Austin Food and Wine Sign
Every “foodie” loves to indulge once in awhile with an epic feasting of the best food and recipes their area has to offer. The only thing fans of great tasting food could love more is a place to eat, see and take part in live demonstrations, and enjoy great music while doing so. What could be better, then, for food enthusiasts in the Austin, Texas, area than the Austin Food and Wine Festival?

From April 25-27, participants of the festival can line up for cooking and grilling demonstrations, book signings from famous chefs from around the country, and many other events that the festival has to offer. Tickets are available for purchase online at

First-Class Wine Selections

In addition to great food, the Austin Food and Wine Festival includes (of course) great wine selections and other spirits to pair with your dining options. Many area bartenders, wine connoisseurs, and other experts in the field of libations will be on hand to help you determine what drinks go best with your meals, or better yet to fill your cup when you run empty!

The festival has more than just food and drink — each night is capped off with a set of music from renowned musicians. With music from Escort (April 25), DJ Mel, and JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound (April 26), you can enjoy the festival’s best food AND dance the calories off in a fun and enjoyable way. Check out the Austin Food and Wine Festival’s website for more information.

Food and Wine Contests

The Austin Food and Wine Festival includes great competitions as well, including the 2014 Rock your Taco Celebrity Chef Showdown on Saturday, April 26. Will Chef Tyson Cole defend his title, or will a new contender steal away his fourth championship? Only one thing is for certain: great tacos will be served up to anyone willing to eat them! The event starts at 7 PM on Saturday.

Along with the great food and drinks that the festival has to offer are some excellent prizes. On the Austin Food and Wine Festival’s blog, for example, there are several contests that you can enter, including passes to the event itself, a “Big Green Egg” backyard cooker, and even dinners to some of Austin’s best restaurants. Enter yourself in today — you won’t regret it!

The Austin Food and Wine Festival takes place from April 25 to the 27. Patrons must be ages 21 and over. Events will take place at Butler Park, with the Rock your Taco and the Taste of Texas events occurring at Republic Square Park, both in Austin, Texas (maps available on the website). The Austin Food and Wine Festival is put on by the Austin Food and Wine Alliance, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization “dedicated to fostering awareness and innovation in the Central Texas culinary community.”

Come down to Austin towards the end of April. It will be a fun time for your taste buds, your stomach, and your other senses to enjoy. The Austin Food and Wine Festival brings you the best in food, drink, and music, and is a great way to start the season off right.
